Reflections Records has come a long way. Starting out in 1994 as a small fanzine, it quickly became Europe's most well known and prominent Hardcore zine. In 1998 things took a drastic turn when they decided to add a 7inch compilation to one of their issues. This proved to be tremendously successful, and marked the birth of Reflections as a record label. More releases followed, and Reflections Records seemed unstoppable. Never one second out of the public eye, they grew amazingly fast to quickly become Europe's biggest hardcore label.

Fast forward to the present. Reflections Records has become a full time operation with a broad scale of releases ranging from old school hardcore, to metal to indie rock. But all their releases have one thing in common though (besides amazing music, duh!), to the great pleasure of bands and fans alike: top notch artwork. 'I guess both me and Suzanne have a common love for art, and that we try to make our releases stand out. We think that a CD should be an all around art-form' says Johan Prenger , CEO of Reflections Records, when asked about this. An answer that clearly shows the passion, love and support for real and independent music.

When looking at the Reflections Records discography, you immediately notice a number of licensed releases. 'As for licensing records, that just fell into place as well. I think we built up quite a good name and got to know more and more people. US bands got to know about us and asked us to work together. It just works out for both parties I think. We help bands get better coverage in Europe, and it's good for us, so it works both ways!' comments Suzanne van Bilsen, partner and Label Manager.

The Reflections roster continues to expand, with latest additions being Annihilation Time, Cursed, Bad Reaction, Wraith and Paint It Black. There is no sign of Reflections Records stopping any time soon. As Johan points out: 'I love what I do. When it comes down to it, best job in the world!' And it's that very enthusiasm and passion that makes Reflections Records a stand out label in an age where the differences between mainstream and underground are smaller than ever.

Reflections affiliated bands (past, present, future) include (in alphabetical order): 108, Annihilation Time, Automatic, Aversion, Bad Reaction, Bars, Black Cross, Blacklisted, Bloodpact / Reaching Forward, Breathe In, Circle, Cloak/Dagger, Coliseum, Committed, Converge, Count Me Out, Cursed, Daughters, Dead Hearts, Doomriders, Ensign / Reaching Forward, Face Tomorrow, Give Up The Ghost, Good Clean Fun, Guns Up!, I Defy, I Hate You.
